JEM Leadership Academy's mission is to train and empower underprivileged youth, ages 10 though 17, in the disciplines of new media arts, financial literacy, and the science of branding and entrepreneurship. By focusing on populations that are underrepresented in the Media and Finance industries, JEM Leadership Academy aims to usher today’s youth into the emerging global economy by preparing them with tools for the rapidly changing landscape of new media production.

Course content emphasizes hands-on learning with state-of-the art equipment and technology. For select areas of study, students are expected to apply newfound skills and competencies into creative works, to include films, apps, virtual worlds, documentaries and/or mobile television content, which will be featured and celebrated at an end of year, culminating event.
